Understanding Climate Change from Space
Since 1975 scientists and engineers have been working on creating a European space program. The result of their efforts has among other things helped create the satellites which today play such a vital role in our understanding of the changes to our Earth.
Under the climate summit you can experience at Kongens Nytorv a model of an ESA CryoSat-2 satellite in actual size. The satellite will be sent into orbit in 2010 on a mission to monitor the polar ice. The satellite has an impressive degree of accuracy and can therefore help to determine some of the climate changes that will affect future generations
